Laura is a trauma nurse at Erlanger and Kevin is an electrical engineer at Qualus. They met in 2020 on a first date to dinner and a Lookouts game. Funnily enough, the Lookouts weren't playing in person due to that pesky respiratory virus going around at the time but still sold tickets for the games... so Laura and Kevin walked to get ice cream instead. Since then, they've maintained their sense of humor, traveled together, developed an enjoyment of pickleball, cooked many meals together, gone on many walks, loved each other's pets, and become entwined in each other's families. They're looking forward to this important day that marks the beginning of two becoming one.
Emily Hodskins

Laura's older sister, Emily, is a cardiologist practicing in Charleston, SC. Emily and Laura's closeness grew during the years they spent concurrently attending the University of Georgia. She is Laura's friend, travel companion, and co-coordinator of children's crafts at Christmas. She has always been able to make Laura laugh and she elevates the amount of glee at any family gathering. She and her husband Steven are the soon-to-be parents of twins due in March 2026.
Jill Karlsen

When talking about Jill, Laura always says, "My friend Jill can do anything." She is a loving wife to her husband, Keith, and fantastic mother to her four daughters. She can play the guitar and drums, make any craft (whether it requires sewing/beading/weaving copper wire/drawing/calligraphy/any skill), fix cars, cook, raise chickens, shoot at the foxes who hunt the chickens, lift weights, garden, install a water heater, and tell you any fact about Led Zeppelin. The list is endless. Mostly, she is the truest definition of the word "friend" who is an extra sister to Laura and Emily.
Kathryn Stewart
Bridesmaid
Kathryn was Laura's first friend in Chattanooga. She invited Laura hiking, and the years since have been filled with hiking in Washington, climbing 200-ft Douglas firs, bike rides, coffee dates, trips to the floating house on Lake Norris, learning to wakeboard in their 30s (harder than it looks), sunbathing at the North Chick, reading in companionable silence, game nights, and many other adventures in between. Kathryn is one of the smartest people Laura knows. She currently works as a Nurse Practitioner with Erlanger's Pulmonary Critical Care group.
Jess Weber

In the often-chaotic world of trauma and critical care, Jess is Laura's closest friend among the redshirts. She is smart, upbeat, and a trusted confidant. She always has just the right suggestion to perfect an outfit or makeup. A flawless beauty, Jess has the unique talent of making those around her more beautiful, not with makeup or clothes, but with her uplifting words. Jess is a loving bonus mother to Elli, and she and her husband Jared are anticipating the birth of their daughter in January 2026.
Steven Hodskins
Groomsman
Steven is Kevin's friend and Laura's brother-in-law. He is a skilled water skier, proficient oyster roaster, and expert fisherman. An environmental engineer, he is the Business Lead for EnSafe in Charleston, SC. He and his wife Emily are excited to welcome a couple of new fishing buddies in 2026!
