Laura and Justin met in 2008, unintentionally, via the internet; long before internet dating was a thing, and on Myspace, of all places. Then a couple times over the next year, but it wasn’t until Laura came home from her Freshman Year at Bryant University, and wondered, “Who is this Birdman-G in my Top 8 Friends?,” that the two finally made a plan to meet up. An afternoon of bowling and coffee and the rest was history. Just shy of their 1-year anniversary, Laura would bring home the most perfect gift from Spring Break in Myrtle Beach – an 8-week old Pitbull puppy, Karley. Once the unexpected surprise of a new dog blew over, Karley’s quirky charm and personality quickly made her the center of their universe. She traveled to Bryant on weekends, to NH in blizzards, for visits with her grandparents in Higganum and back to Meriden, and to anywhere else her parents were adventuring—until Karley, Justin, and Laura settled into a house of their own in Wethersfield, CT in 2016. There, Laura and Justin toiled away on their fixer-upper, manifesting countless home projects inside and out, while Karl supervised blanket and pillow placements. Once free time became more abundant, the little family of three would frequently be out enjoying the various hiking trails, whipped cream coffee spots, farmer's markets, and pickleball courts in town, as well as the informative, NON-haunted tours put on to celebrate Wethersfield’s historical sites. For 14 ½ incredible years, Laura and Justin were blessed with the world’s cutest, potato-face angel, until Karley’s passing in June of last year.

Before they had responsibilities, each winter, Laura and Justin would set aside at least one long weekend to explore a new winter destination. Going as far as Mont Tremblant, as close Stowe, VT, each trip was magical. One of their favorite stays over 15 years together was at the Equinox Hotel in Manchester, VT. And their return to the Equinox in December 2022 was just as magical. It was the only weekend that winter that the area would truly be blanketed in snow – and what perfect timing for a sleighride with Charley and Marley, the Farm’s handsome Clydesdales.
