Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Laura Soldan and Jon Scott
Charleston is especially lovely in May, with warm weather and plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors. Downtown is great for wandering at your own pace—walk along the water at The Battery, explore side streets near King Street, or stop by Waterfront Park for harbor views. It’s very walkable and full of great spots for coffee, cocktails, and relaxed meals. Closer to the wedding venue, a drive along Ashley River Road is worth it. Middleton Place and Magnolia Plantation & Gardens offer peaceful walking paths and beautiful scenery nearby. If you’re up for a beach day, Folly Beach has a laid-back feel, while Isle of Palms is perfect for a quieter escape. Spring is a popular time in Charleston, so booking dining or activities ahead of time is recommended.
