Since the wedding is during Puerto Rico's high tourist season, we highly recommend that you book your flights early! SJU airport is about 40 miles east of the airport. Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, so travel from the U.S. mainland is considered domestic. When departing, make sure you have your bags checked at the USDA station at SJU, as federal law prohibits the transportation of many agricultural items into the mainland U.S. from P.R.

If staying at the wedding hotel, we recommend arranging a rental vehicle at the airport. It will give you flexibility to visit and explore various parts of the island. Uber/Lyft availability will be limited to and from SJU/San Juan area and Río Grande. SJU airport has most U.S. rental car companies on site. Since February is high tourist season, we recommend that you book your rental early.
