Maid of Honor
We first met on a Sunday, on the bus from the east side of App State headed to church. We then became sorority sisters, roommates, and friends for life.
Bridesmaid
We have to thank Daniel, my brother, for bringing Alyssa into my life. She is my sweet, insightful, animal-loving sister-in-law. She's just the best.
Bridesmaid
We met in elementary school and have been lifelong friends. We grew up together, and are still growing up together as adults now. We've shared so many experiences, and I'm thankful Iris has an amazing memory to recount every last moment.
Bridesmaid
We met the summer before freshman year of high school at volleyball tryouts. We haven't lived in the same place since then, so we make time to travel to each other or meet in an awesome destination--like Paris!
Bridesmaid
We met freshman year of college. Our first memories include searching for a college party, bonding during a power outage our first night in the dorm, and contra dancing. She is the reason I chose Birmingham, AL for my OT school fieldwork so she basically set me up with Graham.
Bridesmaid
We met in OT school and really enjoyed our time together in Charleston, SC and embarking on our first OT jobs in Birmingham, AL. She's my sounding board, online research extraordinaire, and one of these days she and her twin sister will claim me as their triplet.
Bridesmaid
We met in OT school in Charleston, SC and now we explore together out west. She's a free spirit, a burst of sunshine, and always up for an adventure.
Best Man
A big brother, a role model, and a best friend, Jarrett is just a great person. I owe so much of who I am today to him because, well, I've spent a lifetime trying to be just like him! I am so happy to have him as my best man!
Groomsman
Daniel is the newest member of my entourage, and the brother of the bride! Getting to know Daniel over the last few years has been a real treat, and I have to give credit to Penny and Allen for raising TWO stellar people. I am looking forward to having a super cool brother-in-law!
Groomsman
Dustin and I became fast friends in Birmingham, AL, and bonded over trail runs, cycling, good B-ham beers (none of which were split), and El Fudge cookies. He also introduced me to Laura, so I am forever in his debt for that!
Groomsman
Sam 'The Calves of Corvallis' Logan and I met in graduate school at Auburn University. Sam is an original member of the 'Magic 6,' (a group of friends that at no point has ever had 6 members). You can always count on Sam for hilarious commentary on just about any topic, and also for falling asleep while standing up, and then accusing you of the same.
Groomsman
Geoff and I met in college at Appalachian State and raced together on the cycling, swimming, and triathlon clubs. A man of many talents, Geoff is an outgoing and genuine guy, and is so generous that he even let me beat him in a triathlon... once.
Officiant
I met Isaac in college at Appalachian State, and have been great friends ever since. Isaac has a booming presence that commands the attention of everyone around, and a boisterous personality to match. I am grateful that he has agreed to officiate our wedding!
Groomsman
Pat has been my best friend since the third grade at Frank Porter Graham Elementary, where a dodgeball-induced scuffle resulted in a broken shoelace (his), and an unbreakable friendship. Through elementary, middle, high school, and college, Pat has always been there for me, and I'm glad he'll be there on my wedding day too!
Groomsman
I met Chris in Birmingham, AL while doing my postdoc at UAB. We formed an immediate bond over a mutual love for obscure 90's hip hop and the food at Rojo. Chris is an incredibly sincere person, and loves to laugh (even if I tell an extremely mediocre joke).
Groomsman
Geert (hailing from the Netherlands) and I met at Auburn University, where he was studying abroad. While there, Geert had two important achievements; 1) founding the 'Magic 6,' and 2) mastering a hilarious southern accent. An honorable mention must also be made for having the Auburn logo shaved into his head for a football game. He will be sorely missed at our ceremony, but I'm honored to have him there in spirit!
