Meet Nicole, Laura's first friend at Santa Clara, who met while both lost on the first day of school. They lived together for two years, and share countless memories together. Nicole and Garrett became close when they when realized they share the same dance moves and a love for fantasy novels. Nicole can often be found in the middle of the dance floor doing the "shopping cart" and brings joy to any room she's in.

Meet Wes Geiken, a lifelong friend of Garrett's since first grade. The Geiken’s and Painter’s are like family, and Wes taught Garrett to surf. His humor, gregariousness, and outgoing nature perfectly balance both Garrett and Laura. Wes holds a special place in their hearts as a Best Man, and even Ninny, Garrett's aunt, considers him her favorite person.
