The bride's favorite place! Richard Joshua Reynolds (founder of RJ Reynolds tobacco) established roots in Winston-Salem in the 1870s. The family started building their estate, called Reynolda House, in the early 1900s and lived there for several decades before it was turned into a public museum. The village was originally built to house workers on the estate's model farm, and now houses shops, clothing boutiques and restaurants. Reynolda trails are a great place to walk, and connect through to Wake Forest University's campus.
Old Salem is a historic district of Winston-Salem that was originally settled by the Moravian community in 1766. This small city features a living history museum that interprets the restored Moravian community.
