After messaging for a couple weeks on a dating app, we finally met in person to play tennis. We hit and talked for nearly three hours! Needless to say, we hit it off. We continued getting to know each other over board games and excellent food. We "officially" started dating on June 24th of 2016, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Now, we share: a commitment to learning about ourselves, each other, and the world; a desire to support each other in our careers; a willingness to try new things; an ever-growing collection of board games; and two very spoiled cats. On May 13th, 2019, we hiked to the top of Hawksbill Mountain outside of Asheville, NC. With beautiful 360* views and the mountain all to ourselves, Dan asked Laura to marry him. She excitedly said yes. We took countless selfies and hiked another peak, grinning the whole way. That evening at their AirBnb, Laura surprised Dan with a poem that ended with Laura proposing back to Dan. He, too, excitedly said yes. We are excited to continue our commitments to learning together, to supporting one another, to adventurously trying new things together, and to having fun together, as husband and wife. As we celebrate this new beginning, we will be moving this summer to Wisconsin, where Laura will be an assistant professor of sociology at St. Norbert College. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, individually and as a couple, along the way. Please come visit us!
