Laura and Craig met through a mutual friend (Linds) who is now their Maid of Honor for this reason (and for countless reasons more). Although they met at a birthday dinner for Linds in October 2017 and had heard plenty of stories about each other prior to this, their story didn't really begin for another few months. They may have danced for a whole night together at a bar in January, and Laura may or may not have declined a handful of invitations to watch New Girl at Craig's house in early 2018. Laura and Craig finally hit it off when Linds had a "Singles Night" for Valentines Day at Laura's apartment. Linds made Mommy Nuggets (homemade chicken tenders) and served red wine to them with the third Harry Potter movie playing. It was on this night that Laura realized that Craig and her had a lot in common (starting with knowing all of the lines to the movie that was playing). In the words of Lumière, Cogsworth, and Mrs. Potts, "There may be something there that wasn't there before." And Laura "wondered why [she] didn't see it there before."

Craig took Laura to the Oak Hill trails in Concord, NH with their friends Trevor and Simone for a morning hike on August 2, 2020. Laura didn't even question Trevor's large backpack for such a short hike, but it became very obvious why it was needed when surprise champagne was popped at the top of the fire tower.
