Col and I met in high school. We are from a small area and both went to high school in Whiteville, NC. We knew of each other (since every one knows every one) but we never really crossed paths a ton. I was friends with his sister, and he played soccer with my brother! I worked at a seafood restaurant when I was 15. I wasn't really old enough to wait tables, so I just kept the salad bar stocked and helped with silverware, little things like that. I’m not the most graceful, and one night I dropped an entire container (bulk sized) of Thousand Island dressing all over the carpeted floor! Colin was eating dinner with his grandparents, and he noticed me struggling big time. He went over and told me it would be okay. I think he even gave me a hug (but didn’t offer much help with the clean up…what the heck? Haha!) Anyways I some how cleaned up my mess, without getting fired. A couple of days or so later, I got a text from someone teasing me about the clumsiness. Of course I knew who it was right away. We began dating and never stopped. Colin is two years older than me, so it wasn’t long after we started dating that he moved to Raleigh to go to NC State. He’s a huge State fan. I went to East Carolina and then moved to Wilmington for graduate school. We are finally living back in the same area, where we met and started dating nine years ago. We’re just so thankful to have each other, and our two pups Jenny and Jace! We are so excited to be getting married soon!!
