Throughout the last 16 years, Heidy has been someone that I value, trust, and depend on. We've spent countless hours on the phone, had many fights, and plenty of laughs. One distinct moment doesn't really capture the bond that we share nor why I consider Heidy the best woman to stand beside me on my big day. All I know is that when I need someone to talk to, she's always there. When I'm sad, she consoles me. When I'm mad, she's ready to fight someone for me. When I'm hurt, she's ready to help me heal (usually with a whole bottle of wine). She's that reality check every person needs. She's that psychopath who will probably go to jail with you. She's that awkwardly goofy person who always tries to break the ice. She loves my brother very much, and because of that, she loves me very much. She chose to marry my brother and adopted me and my mom as her own blood. As I prepare for marriage, I look to the women who I think did it well (or at least most of it well). Heidy demonstrates true sacrifice and love in her own marriage and what it means to die to self for the sake of her husband and kids. She also demonstrates what it means to marry not just the man, but his family as well. We are close and true sisters to this day because she made me feel like I was her sister from the start. I need a woman like that standing beside me on my wedding day to remind me and help me to be that for my own husband. I couldn't imagine anyone else standing beside me.

Best Man

Dating back to the first days of my life, Nathan has always looked after me. He was my first friend, introduced me to my first friend (outside of the family), and always included me where ever he went when we were kids. He was my first chauffeur, my first confidant, and the first example I strived to follow. He is kind, generous, caring, joyful, colorful, and loving. He shares all he has with everyone and anyone. He has a contagious personality, and all that know him love him. Being the oldest of six siblings, he always stood tall and was the first to make sacrifices for the betterment of all of us. In our adult life, he has, time and time again, faced adversity and overcame it. He is not one for many words but always speaks from the heart. His example is one I strive to still follow to this day. He is more than just my big brother; he is the best man I know. We have shared countless memories over the years, including sharing a room until our teenage years, a paper route, many road trips with the absolute best mix tapes (CDs), plenty of laughs, and above all, our faith. We shared an altar as altar boys, as we served many family weddings. We may have even thrown a party or two when my parents were out of town. My brother is a man of true character, leads by a solid example, and all occasions spent with him lead to instant cherished memories. He is a great son, uncle, brother, and friend. I couldn't imagine a better man to stand next to me on the altar for my wedding.
