One of Laura's favorite places to frequent when she visits RVA...Carytown centers around a stretch of West Cary Street, with indie boutiques, record stores, and vintage emporiums. Quirky murals brighten alleyways and buildings housing cool cafes, bakeries, and health-conscious lunch spots, farm-to-table restaurants and craft cocktail bars!
The Byrd Theatre
Operating since 1928, the Byrd Theater screens movies in opulent surroundings. It's one of the last theatres to still have an organist play before showtime.
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
One of the largest comprehensive art museums in the United States. The VMFA is home to important collections of Chinese art, English silver, and French Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, British sporting, and modern and contemporary art, as well as renowned South Asian, Himalayan, and African art.
Maymont
Maymont is a 100-acre Victorian estate and public park in Richmond, Virginia. It contains Maymont Mansion, now a historic house museum, an arboretum, formal gardens, a carriage collection, native wildlife exhibits, a nature center, and Children's Farm.
