Question

Will there be other group events/activities during the week?

Answer

While we are so glad you are coming for our wedding, we respect that this is also your own vacation time and are leaving the only scheduled activities to be the Wedding day itself. We know that everyone's idea of a perfect vacation will be different. Whether you prefer to sleep in and spend your days lounging with a book or you are hoping to make new friends, move your body and engage in some healthy competition, we hope that you can take advantage of the resorts amenities and daily activities to enjoy your vacation in your own unique way. Stay tuned as we may create a Facebook Group in the month leading up to the wedding to make it easier for those attending to ask each other questions, share packing tips, or recruit teammates for a volleyball game. Are there any excursions available?

Answer

The resort has an in-house tour company - Seasons Tours. They have a desk in the resort lobby for bookings. Their website with available tours is provided below. When is the latest I can book?

Answer

While the group booking code will remain active until November 20, 2024, there is no room block for the group and therefore no guarantee that a room will still be available to be booked by that date.

Can I stay at a different resort?

Answer

Please understand that it is a resort policy that anyone attending the wedding be a guest at the resort for a minimum of 3 nights.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Please understand that the resort's ceremony and reception venues can only accommodate a limited number of people. If you are hoping to bring someone that has not received an invitation directly, please reach out to the bride and groom!

What day should I arrive/depart?

Answer

We ask that all our guests arrive by January 21, 2025 (1 day before the wedding) to ensure that potential travel delays do not impact their ability to attend the wedding ceremony and reception. That said, you are welcome to arrive and depart any days that best suit your schedule and vacation plans. Also please note that the group rate may only apply for dates between January 19, 2025 and January 26, 2025 (however you are welcome to follow-up with the resort directly on if the group rate can be extended).

What flights should I book?

Answer

There are no pre-determined flights for the group. Please book whatever flights work best for your location and schedule!

How do I get from the airport to the resort and back?

Answer

By booking directly through Excellence Resorts, if you book at their refundable rate for a minimum of 3 nights, you will automatically be entitled to free private round-trip transfer to and from the airport and resort for your stay. You can arrange these transfers after booking and receiving your flight times and number via this email: transfers@seasonstours.com

What is the dress code for the wedding day?

Answer

We ask that our guests dress for Dressy Casual / Beach Cocktail as described below: For women: - A dress, formal romper, or jumpsuit - Tea-length, midi or maxi dresses are all acceptable - Feel free to wear colours and prints, but please hold off on wearing any white (or off-white) dresses or jumpers. - For footwear, dressy sandals, chunky heels, and wedges are all acceptable options. For men: - A jacket is not a requirement but is welcome if that is your preference - Pants should be long. Chinos, khakis, linen pants or dress pants are all welcome. Jeans are not permitted. - A collared shirt, whether it be a short-sleeved or long-sleeved button up or a polo. - ties are not required - Feel free to include colour and prints, but please leave the neon or primary coloured pineapples, flamingos and parrots for a different day. - Shoes should be closed-toe, such as a loafer or deck shoe We want you to be comfortable so please keep in mind the following when choosing an outfit: - The ceremony will take place on the beach in the sand (We recommend avoiding any footwear with a skinny heel) - There may be a strong breeze due to the ceremony and reception being near the water (if you often feel chilly on summer nights consider bringing a shall or light jacket to wear with your outfit later in the evening) - While the ceremony does not start until 5pm, it may still be quite warm and humid until after 7pm (consider choosing an outfit with lightweight and breathable fabrics) The Groomsmen will be wearing - light grey dress pants - white dress shirts - suspenders - blue bow ties - closed toe shoes The Bridesmaids will be wearing: - Chiffon dresses in a variety of blues

We do not have a registry, nor do we expect any gifts. We are just happy to have you travel with us for our special day!

Where and how do I book?

All bookings should be done directly through the resort website OR the resort toll free numbers. Go to https://www.excellenceresorts.com/ 1. Find the booking engine. 2. Select your Destination, Check-in and Check-out dates, Number of guests and add the Group Promo Code (see below). 3. Click “CHECK AVAILABILITY” 4. Make sure you get the message: “Promotional code applied” 5. In the comments box, please add the promo code. 6. Complete your booking, and that is all. No other charges will be made until 30 days before the arrival date of the trip. Please note that by booking based on the above steps, the reservation is fully refundable up to 30 days before the trip with no cancellation charges. Once you process the booking, you will receive a confirmation email with a booking number and confirmation of your travel dates and room category. Please note, the booking system has had some lags lately and your first attempt to process the booking may not be successful. If this occurs, please take note of your booking ID and attempt payment again or later that day. Also to note - the website pricing is in USD - you can select a tab towards the top to show the current CAD conversion, however the charge will be made in USD 30 days before the arrival date so the CAD conversion could fluctuate by that date.

Who do I contact if my plans change last minute leading up to the wedding?

Please contact the resort and/or airline directly for anything related to changes to bookings or accommodations. To notify the Bride & Groom if your attendance is changing, please reach out to them at Laura.ted25@gmail.com Please be advised that changing your resort booking after November 20, 2024 may result in the group rate being removed from your booking. Since the group booking code is no longer active past this date, you will be unable to reapply the group rate to your booking.

What type of food/drink does the resort serve?

Answer

This resort has 11 restaurants and 8 bars! They are a mix of breakfast, lunch and dinner options and serve up a variety of cuisines. The bar options offer a mix of alcoholic beverages, a coffee bar, and a smoothie bar! Are there any spa/beauty amenities on site?

The resort does have a day spa on site for additional charges. It is worth noting that some of their treatments receive a 20% discount if booked prior to arrival. As well, the group has received 10% to spa services for anything booked during the stay. Is tipping required at the resort?

Answer

No, tipping is not required! That said, you are more than welcome to give tips to staff members to show your appreciation if you so choose. The best forms of currency for the staff are US dollars or Pesos. We also recommend if you are bringing cash for tipping, that you bring small denominations as the resort may not have smaller bills available to exchange out larger ones.

The average weather in January in Cancun is between 21 and 26 degrees celsius. Cancun sees approximately 3-8 days of rain during the month of January.
