We were first introduced to each other by Reed's sister Rachel. Rachel was not able to compete with Reed in a Boy/Girl CrossFit competition, so had asked if Laura would want to compete with him. After a few moments of contemplation, Laura approached Reed in the parking lot saying that she would do the competition with him. After exchanging numbers and talking leading up to and throughout competition day, it was evident that there was chemistry between the two of us.

Our first dates were to Smitty’s Italian Steakhouse in Evansville, Fall Festival, Corner Bar (RIP), and walking Goose. Walking the dog quickly became one of our favorite things to do together.

November 19th, 2021

After months of traveling 5 hours each way to work, Laura was ready for a move to another base for work. Listing a few cities for possible career moves, we came to the agreement that Charlotte would be the best option for us at that time in our lives together. So with the help of the Garcia Gal’s, Reed and Laura packed up their lives along with Goose and Jalapeño and moved across the country to the Queen City.

The best thing about Charlotte, is at any moment, you are two hours from the mountains or two hours from the ocean. With both of us having the weekend off, we decided to rent a condo down in Myrtle Beach for the weekend. With walking Goose being one of our favorite things to do together, we decided to try and make it to the beach with him to watch the sunrise. Being next to the pier, as the sun was coming up, that was where Reed asked Laura to marry him.
