How We Met

How were we not catfished?

By some quirk of fate and the internet, Max and Laura met in 2011, through the unlikely connection of their dumb blogs. Laura had recently been dumped, so she had nothing to lose--why not reach out to the cute guy with the funny blog? The cute guy--Max--messaged back, and so it began. Messaging led to texting, which led to facebook stalking, which led to skyping. And slowly each of them realized that they'd found something incredibly special. Separated by 300 miles and bad Wifi, it was an unlikely romance, but somehow they made it work.

Everything In Between

I Would Walk 333 Miles

Five years, two proms, dozens of smelly Greyhound buses, thousands of Skype calls, and one big move later, Max and Laura were living together in San Francisco. Max liked living in the fog, and Laura liked living with Max. He had been ready to propose since the beginning, but he waited one more year before making it official.

The Proposal

Laura almost ruined everything

Max and Laura had been talking seriously about marriage, but Max wanted the proposal to be a surprise, so he disguised his plans as a routine date at the botanical garden--their favorite place. But the night before, Laura carelessly joked "what, you're not proposing to me tomorrow, are you?" and Max's face gave it all away. Completely horrified at having ruined Max's surprise, Laura asked him to not propose as planned, to wait for the next sunny day to save the surprise. But that night Laura couldn't sleep--she kept thinking about how much she wanted Max to propose, how much she loved him, and how ready she was to marry him. So the next morning, she got out of bed, opened the blinds, and turned to Max, "Look, it's sunny today."
