Hello All! This year really hasn't gone the way any of us planned, has it? We have made the decision to cancel the wedding. As much as we want to get married and celebrate, it is just not a safe option at this point. We are still planning to get married- our commitment to each other has been one of the only sure things through this- we are just no longer sure of the when or the where. We love you!
Like all classic love stories, ours began on the internet. It all started with a message on an online dating site about organic chocolate milk being superior to regular chocolate milk. A week or two and many equally silly messages later, we met at a local bar. We bonded over craft cocktails and a charcuterie board while we quoted movies and told sarcastic jokes.
'What are you guys going to do today?' 'Nothing much, maybe go on a walk to the beach' It was on that walk, on a small cliff overlooking the beach, that Lawrence decided to pop the question. Turns out, he had been carrying the ring around for the previous 4 days, waiting for just the right moment. We were on vacation on Hawaii with some friends, so there were no shortage of ideal locations, but this was the only morning we had to ourselves. We stopped for a moment to take a picture (aka, forced selfies) and when I turned back from putting the phone away, there he was on one knee. I was completely taken by surprise and fully convinced that he had dropped something on the ground. I think I ask 'what?' at least a dozen times. I obviously said yes, followed by quite a few 'holy sh*t's. We finished our walk, had the fun of surprising our friends when they came back to the house, and enjoyed the rest of our trip as an engaged couple.
My beautiful engagement ring came from Lawrence's family. It originally belonged to his great grandmother and was passed down to him a few years ago. The center stone is a peridot with 2 small diamonds on either side- 2 are from his mom, and 2 are from my mom. And, most amazing of all, it fit perfectly! No sizing needed. Totally meant to be.
