We met at a mutual friend's party when I was graduating high school and Chip was visiting home from Chico State. The Burlingame baseball team had just won their CCS game and were throwing a party. I was introduced to Chip because he was going to Chico and I would be attending in the fall. I remember Chip asked me for my number so he could "tell me about all the cool parties" and the rest is history.
We were staying at my parent's cabin, Daveland, in South Lake Tahoe. Right near the cabin is this beautiful waterfall. Chip suggested we go on a bike ride and then a hike to the waterfall. The next morning, we did just that. Once we reached the top of the fall, Chip got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was special because we were completely alone in the great outdoors. When we got back from the hike, we immediately started calling and texting all of our family and friends to share the great news. Later that day, we went to the Beacon Bar and Grill, listened to some live music on the beach and drank celebratory Rum Runners.
