How We Met

6.27.20

One summer day in June I was attending Lauren's softball game with my family when I noticed a good looking guy and his friend taking their kayaks off their jeeps. I ran over to my parents and said to them "Look at that hot guy over there". My dad (Jim) being as outgoing as he is decided to walk over to the guys and talk fishing. Nothing ever came of that interaction, but ironically enough 2 weeks later, I was at a friend's birthday party, when that "hot guy" showed up to the party. At some point during the night we got to talking and discovered that he was talking to my dad at the softball field that day. We exchanged numbers and the rest was history!

The Proposal

8.18.23

On a stormy Friday afternoon on August 18th, Nick and I traveled to Ogunquit, Maine to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We parked at Perkins Cove to eat at our favorite restaurant Jackie's Too. Come to find out, all of the restaurants in Perkins Cove except for one were closed due to a power outage caused by a recent thunderstorm that passed through. Upset that we weren't going to get to eat at our favorite restaurant, we entered the one restaurant that was open and sat down for dinner. Once we got our food is when I could tell Nick was getting nervous and that something was going on. Every five minutes he kept getting up to "use the bathroom", and he barely touched his dinner, which if you know Nick that is extremely unlike him. After dinner we headed outside to begin walking the marginal way for sunset. Not more than 30 seconds into the walk, I looked up and saw my parents standing there holding up a sign. I immediately lost it emotionally, and it was then I knew he was going to propose. Nick kissed me on the side of the head and said "see you at the end." The rest of the marginal way I was greeted by more family and friends that held up signs created by Nick that outlined the milestones of our relationship. Once I got to the end I was met by Nick standing up on some rocks surrounded by a blanket, lanterns, and a rose petal trail. It was on these rocks he got down on one knee and proposed! It truly was the dream proposal! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you on the Cape!
