Our families knew each other and we had no idea each other existed at all. Jen, Anthony's mom, came over one night and was hanging out with my mom, Melanie, for a few hours. I was sitting there doing my psychology homework and next thing that I know is Jen is showing me a picture of some guy. "This is your future husband", she says. I just look at her and laugh. I was 17 and I had no means of getting married any time soon. She starts talking about her son and how much he loves basketball and how smart and handsome he is and that he's coming over right now. Yes, you read that correctly. Right. Now. I hear a knock at the door and then I see this guy.. Basketball shorts, hoodie and looked a little nervous. He proceeds to tell my mom that he forget his house key so he came over here. Jen then says, "Anthony, this is your future wife, Annissa" and we both kind of laugh it off. The rest of the night was filled with joking, teasing and laughter. The rest is history

October 3rd will be very special to me, and no, not because I really like Mean Girls. October 3rd was the night we got engaged. Let me tell you how it all happened. So, for a few days now, he has been saying that we are getting work done on the carpet in the bedroom. I think nothing of it only because our upstairs neighbors are also getting work done. So he says we have to stay out of the bedroom for a few days because of exposed nails and any other objects that could hurt us. The morning of October 3rd, we have an us day. We went out to eat, went to the movies and then we went bowling. We had a really nice time together. We finally get home and we have a game night with some of our closest friends here in Bellevue, Nebraska. We play a few games and then we end the night off with Clue. For those who don't know, Clue is a board game where you have to guess who is the murderer, where they did it, and what they did it with. Also, if you ever play with Anthony, good luck because you will NEVER win. So, we are playing for a while and it's down to me, my friend, Abby, and my friend, Chey. They take a guess and now it's my turn. I take a guess and then I pull out the cards and they read, "It was Anthony, In the bedroom, with a surprise". I start laughing and my friends tell me to go check the bedroom and when I opened the door, I was so shocked and just so amazed. Roses and candles every where and right in the center of a huge heart made out of roses, anxiously stood the love of my life. It was truly beautiful.
