We Say I Do

Marcus and LaToya met in the 8th grade January 1997 she was a new student transferring in, he was smitten at first sight and she wanted nothing to do with him. Eventually his persistence and charm won her over and they were inseparable. Their love for each other was strong a such young age, they made plans for their future together. As the Michele Clark Middle School year came to an end, at the School Carnival Marriage Booth the two "tied the knot". Through no control of their own they went their separate ways after 8th grade graduation. They stayed in touch by writing letters and long distance phone calls. After graduating High School in 2001 they rekindled their relationship and built a friendship that has lasted through the years. The two where on and off for years that passed but as the fates would have it they had their 1st child NyDia Layla Anderson June 23 2008. It has been a long road for the couple as life would have it but, Marcus gathered her family around on March 23 2019 and asked for LaToya's hand in marriage. As they basked in the joys of their future together, they looked to their past and the signs became clear. They pulled out the Marriage Certificate from that 8th grade School Carnival, which they both still have, the date read May 23 1997. Not yet having a date in mind they noticed that May 23rd would make it 23 years to the day of the 8th grade "marriage". Now they have set out to have May 23rd a day to celebrate for the rest of their lives. The universe has a funny way of making sure you find your person and these two are defintely meant to be. Their ceremony will be on May 16, but they won’t be officially married until May 23.
