First Began

Our story really started when Greg reached out on Instagram, yes, it all went down in the DMs. His very first question was, “Are you single?” And instead of answering, he got hit with a “Hi, how are you?” because, honestly, he skipped right past an introduction. But in his mind, he was just being real, he was not about to waste time if I was already in a relationship. From that moment on, we started talking every day. What began as simple messages turned into real conversations, and before long, we exchanged numbers. Whenever I came home to visit, we made time to see each other and without even realizing it, those moments started to mean more to both of us. Our first date was on Christmas Day, and we went bowling. I’ll just say it, because he still teases me about it,I apparently smelled like curry chicken and was wearing Kevin Durant sneakers lol. On the way home from the bowling alley, Greg took the long way just to spend more time together and played “Queen Majesty.” He was definitely trying to win me over with the reggae lol. As time went on, we stayed in contact while I transitioned back to my hometown of Lake Wales. No matter what, we kept choosing to stay connected. One day we went out for ice cream, and Greg talked my head off, he can talk! There was a moment where I thought about saying we should just be friends, mostly out of fear of how things were growing. But instead of pulling away, I gave it a real chance and I’m so glad we did. From that point on, everything moved quickly. We became inseparable. What started as visits turned into everyday life. We spent more time together, learned each other, and built something that felt natural and real. Then life surprised us, we found out we were expecting. It was exciting and scary all at once. We were two young people who was suddenly preparing for something so big. But in that moment, we chose each other in a deeper way and we would not change a thing. Now we have our son, Kason Bell, and we have each other. Together, we created our own family. We have continued to love one another, learn one another, and grow together and we’re still growing. To God, thank You for continuing to cover us, guide us, and hold us together. In this season of our lives, we are ready. Ready to say “I do,” to choose each other daily, and to be united under God. -Cheers to love, growth, and the life we are building as The future Bells.
