Spooner Summit

This large park area is located at the top of Spooner Summit at the corner of Hwy 50 and Hwy 28 on your way from South Lake Tahoe to Carson City, Nevada. This is a “bring your own equipment” hill that is not maintained. On any winter day you will see people swooshing down Spooner Summit tubing hill. Many people come from both North and South Lake Tahoe to enjoy the downhill excitement this sledding area provides. You will find some limited parking when snow plows have come through. Get there early to find a spot to park. Bring the sun screen and sled at your own risk.
