From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the overwhelming love, patience, and understanding you’ve shown us during this incredibly difficult time for our family. Making the decision to postpone our wedding while navigating my mom’s illness was not easy, but your compassion, kind words, and support have meant more to us than we can ever express. We are so grateful for each of you and truly look forward to celebrating together soon
They say love shows up when you least expect it… and for us, that couldn’t be more true. We met in December 2021 thanks to a little help from eHarmony (and maybe the universe). After a few messages back and forth, we decided to meet for dinner at an Italian restaurant — and the rest, as they say, is history. From the first laugh to the last bite of pasta, something just clicked (even if LaToya was totally convinced Joel wasn’t going to call her back… spoiler alert: he did). It didn’t take long to realize we shared a deep, borderline intense love for the Las Vegas Raiders. Our first Valentine’s Day together? Spent at John Madden’s Memorial at the Oakland Coliseum. It might not sound like the typical romantic date night, but for us, it was perfect — and very on brand. After a few months (and a helpful nudge — shout out to Serg!), Joel officially asked LaToya to be his girlfriend on April 2, 2022, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Fast forward to August 31, 2024 — a day we’ll never forget. While vacationing with both of our families in Puerto Vallarta, Joel got down on one knee and asked LaToya to marry him. What she didn’t know was that he’d been so nervous all day — pacing, sweating, and trying to play it cool — while she was blissfully unaware. And as if the moment wasn’t special enough, it also happened to be LaToya’s brother’s birthday! (Huge thanks to him for letting us totally steal his spotlight.) It was everything we could’ve dreamed of — surrounded by love, laughter, and family in the most beautiful setting. Now we can’t wait to continue building our life together — filled with love, laughter, family, and plenty of new memories (and probably a few more Raiders games). We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
