Lateisha and Renardo met in 2018, after running into one another at several family outings as he is close friends with Lateisha’s now brother in law Tee, who’s also a groomsmen in their wedding. After years of just hi’s and bye’s Renardo finally got the courage to approach Lateisha in 2020 and ask for her phone number to get to know her better. Lateisha was ultimately shocked because they had known each other for a couple years at this point and had no idea Renardo was interested in pursing her. Lateisha agreed to exchange phone numbers and take things slow because Lateisha was set to move out of state two weeks later and that would mean attempting to date someone while in two different states. After trying for a couple months of talking on the phone being long distance things just seemed to fade as they were still very new with getting to know one another romantically. Lateisha moved back to Detroit a year later in 2021 and hadn’t talked to or seen Renardo since the year prior. When Renardo and Lateisha finally seen each other in person a year later, Renardo attempted to ask Lateisha on a date, but Lateisha was slightly apprehensive due to being scared of starting and stopping some thing once more. Fast forward to a year later, they seen each other once again and happened to have on the exact same colors. When Lateisha seen him she instantly knew she was interested in finally taking Renardo up on his offer to go on a date. She didn’t know how to approach things as this was still slightly awkward since some time had passed since Renardo requested to take her out. Lateisha approached Renardo by pulling a seat at his table and starting a conversation. Renardo looked so shocked because their last encounter he was turned down lol. After Lateisha made her move they spoke briefly and agreed to start talking on the phone once more and to plan their first date. Things had been going well so Lateisha invited Renardo over to spend Christmas with her and her family. Renardo agreed to come but to Lateisha’s surprise, he came with a gift and it made her feel so special. They had a beautiful holiday together which led to their first date of many on December 30th, 2022. Lateisha and Renardo grew to enjoy each other’s company and fell in love. The couple made things official on May 27th, 2023. Renardo proposed to Lateisha on May 3rd, 2025, just a couple weeks shy of their two year anniversary. Their love story proves that true love always prevails even if things may seem to be moving at a slower pace. God’s timing is always the best timing!
