We met at a game night—just two people laughing over cards and snacks, not knowing we were about to change each other’s lives. A month later, we were spontaneously on a vacation together, talking for hours like we’d known each other forever. From the beginning, it felt easy. We were best friends first—learning each other’s quirks, dreams, and hearts. Life was serious, but together, we found joy, softness, and love in the everyday. From Mexico to the Dominican Republic, Japan to Antigua, we’ve collected memories in every corner of the world. And through it all, one thing has never changed: we are each other’s favorite travel partner, in every sense of the word.
It was our third trip to Japan, and on February 14th, he told me to get dressed—we were going to Shibuya Sky, the famous observation deck. Or so I thought. Instead, our taxi pulled up to Yoyogi Park. He smiled and said, “Surprise—it’s a photo shoot.” I was thrilled; I’d been wanting new photos for our home. As we wandered through the park, we reached the most beautiful tree. And right there, mid-shoot, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes—surrounded by love, beauty, and a place that now means even more to us.
