Always my go to spot in the summer for drinks with a view, especially around sunset. This is an old high school that is now home to many things, including this rooftop bar. There are also a few great bars and restaurants near by. Some other drink spots nearby: Enoteca Nostrana wine bar, ENSO Winery, There Be Monsters, CRUSH, Roadside Attraction (cash only)
The Willamette Valley is known for its world class Pinot noir! There are a ton (exact amount) of vineyards with tasting rooms to check out. Some of our favorites are Durant, Domaine Drouhin, Erath, Stoller. There are a lot of other great ones we haven’t visited yet either. I recommend making a day out of it and visiting 2 or 3! Rent a car, join a tour group, or get a small group and coordinate with a company to drive you. Having a sober driver is key as the Willamette Valley is about 1.5hrs from Portland.
If you have the time, make a drive out to Cannon Beach for some spectacular ocean views. Only 1.5 hours from Portland! **Floridians, don't expect South Beach. The ocean in the PNW is FREEZING! So swimming isn't really a thing, but the views are still very much worth the drive. Buy a bottle of wine and some fancy cheese and have a nice picnic on the beach. :)
Hike in the Mt Hood area. Rated as easy. It’s a 3.4 mile hike (out and back) featuring Oregon forest and features a beautiful waterfall (100 ft high and 40 ft wide).
