FAQs

Question

Do we need to rent a car?

Answer

If you are flying into Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the Mint Museum and nearby hotels are only about 7 miles away. You can easily navigate the weekend with or without the addition of a rental car. Generally Uber/Lyft rides are easily accessible from the airport. Uptown Charlotte is walkable and attractions, including restaurants and the wedding venue, are close by. Van transportation will be available to transport guests to/from the Protagonist Brewery for the Welcome Event Friday evening. If you are looking to explore other areas such as NoDa, Uber/Lyft rides are available.

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

Spring in Charlotte is mild with daily temperatures averaging in the 60s and evening temperatures in the 40s. Across the entire month, there are typically 7 days of rain. When packing, think layers, a sweater, and a light jacket.

Question

Is the event inside or outside?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be inside and the cocktail hour will be outdoors on the balcony, weather permitting. A light coverup or jacket may be recommended for cocktail hour. If the weather is rainy or too cold, the cocktail hour will be moved to an indoor location.

Question

Can I visit the museum before the event?

Answer

The Museum will be free for wedding guests from 5-5:45 pm prior to ceremony on March 26th. Please take advantage and tour the museum prior to the ceremony! Go to the front desk and say you are there for the Lassonde/ Stovall wedding and they will give you a pass for the museum.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes. There is a parking garage attached to the Mint Museum and rates are $5 after 5pm

Question

What are the COVID 19 updates?

Answer

Mecklenburg County is currently at a low positivity rate with the latest 14 day trailing average at 3.6%. There is not a local mask mandate in place currently with the continued exceptions that masks are required on public transportation, in hospitals and may be required by a private business. At this time it is your choice to wear a mask while at The MINT Museum, JW Marriott, Westin and/or the Protagonist Brewery. Masks are not required on the privately provided bus transportation to the Protagonist. When it comes to wearing masks please do whatever makes you feel most comfortable!

Question

What is the bus transportation schedule to the Protagonist Brewery?

Answer

We have two mini-buses secured to provide transportation to the Welcome Event. This saves you the hassle of parking as well as the freedom to kick back and enjoy yourself at the event. The bus will have a sign with Lassonde/Stovall in the window. Bus pickup will be at the JW Marriott (100 W. Trade St.) and the Westin Charlotte (600 College St.) beginning at 7:30 PM. If you are staying at a different location, please meet at either of these hotels to access transportation. The shuttle will run every half hour between the brewery and the JW and Westin. Pick up at hotels will be on the half hour and transportation from the brewery back to the hotels will be on the hour. The final return run is at 10:00 PM. Times may vary slightly due to traffic.
