When we knew it was love...

Paul: I knew after the third date that I was going to marry her. Madeline: We had been dating for a little over a month and I drug him to a concert with me. It was during this concert where the music was way too loud (for even me!) that I looked at him and realized that he was everything I ever wanted.

Proposal

May 27th, 2018

With two big vacations coming up, a family weekend at Leonard Lake was not on my radar for a proposal. I brought no cute clothes, hair product, or even makeup. At sunset, Paul asked if I wanted to go on the canoe. Just as Paul put the canoe in the water, he said he needed to go inside quick. I sat outside waiting. After what felt like an hour, Paul came out with my dad and was talking to him. I was too far away to hear what they were talking about so I assumed it was about fishing or some other "man talk". I became slightly impatient and yelled across the lake "I wanted to go canoeing tonight!". Little did I know, Paul was asking for my hand. We both got into the canoe and paddled around the lake until we stopped at a little crevice in the lake. At this point it was right about sunset. We stopped to enjoy the view and Paul found a snail in the boat and showed it to me (I love bugs!). Just as I was letting the snail go in the grass, Paul said he found another snail. I thought it was my lucky day, two snails in one canoe! Instead, Paul got down on one knee, in the canoe, opened his hand with my ring inside. He said beautiful things to me, none of which I can remember, because I was busy ugly face crying. Upon an inhale I got out "I love you" aka yes.

For all the days along the way
