We first met in February 2016 in the operating room at Virginia Hospital Center. We hung out outside of work for the first time on Cinco de Mayo 2016 at O’Sullivans (the first time ever seeing each other without masks on!). We remained friends and continued to go out sporadically throughout the summer, but ultimately nothing came to fruition - and we went our separate ways. Fast forward to February 2019. At this point, I had a new job in a different hospital system and Ryan was in a new territory of coverage for Medtronic - we met (for the “second time”) in the operating room. For our first date, Ryan took me to Ambar in Clarendon. The stars must have fallen into alignment this time! Our relationship continued to grow in the months to follow and took many fun adventures together - including living together for the first time during the pandemic. We purchased our first home in July 2020! On Thanksgiving Day, surrounded by our closest loved ones in his mom’s beautiful back yard, Ryan asked me (twice, because I forgot to answer the first time) to spend the rest of our lives together.
