The infamous boat story: During COVID, an old friend invited me to Saratoga Lake for the weekend to get away. Living in Utica made me hesitant as it was a far drive but I reluctantly agreed. Thank God I did. It was here we met. Chris lived above my old friend and she introduced us since he’d be going with us. We chatted and went about our evening, thinking nothing of the encounter. Sunday morning came and we all went up to Saratoga Lake for a boat ride coming to find out the boats were his! Seeing the two boats, I thought “Of course these are his (major eye roll)". At this point I assumed he is full of himself, but he made it a point to re-introduce himself (such a darling!) and asked if later he could take me on a jet ski ride...major brownie points for him. Once we were alone, we talked about everything and anything. From there it never stopped, even with me being hours away. Six beautiful months went by and I land an amazing job opportunity near Troy. It was then we decided that it was better being together rather than apart any longer and we took a leap of faith and made room for one more and turned my family of three into four <3

As if Chris wasn't already the man of the hour on HIS BIRTHDAY, he had to take it up a notch and be the most selfless man and propose to me in front of all our friends and family. Months before the proposal I had been planning Chris 30th birthday bash. The day of, I made calls to our family and friends making sure everyone was on their way up. I wanted everything to be perfect. Everyone arrives and I am playing my part as hostess, making sure everyone is having a great time. And it was, it was beautiful. The smile he had told me so. We're getting ready to take our typical family photo near the lake, this is nothing out of the ordinary for us to do. I thought it weird that everyone was taking photos, but I just thought since it's Chris birthday, just keep smiling and give your best side. At the end of the birthday song, I was yelled at to turn around. There was Chris on one knee with the biggest smile asking me to be his forever. As if I couldn't love this man more, he made me ugly cry on his shoulder as I told him YES!
