It all started in 2007 at their alma mater, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Both had different expectations and goals for what they wanted from an undergraduate education there. Lashawntja had come to Rutgers for the large, diverse and lively environment that would inevitably expand her ever-so-sheltered small town mentality. Tony however, was set on completing a 5 year Mechanical Engineering program in 4 years. With polar opposite schedules and conflicting attitudes towards college life, somehow they managed to be inseparable and enamored by one another's company. Small town jocular girl meets stern football captain jock, their upbringings couldn't have been more different! Unbeknown to them they had a lot more similarities than they expected: the same birthday (December 19th), quite distinct birth marks, the same favorite color (red), an affinity for food, travel, country music, Olympic Lifting, heavy furniture, Italian made clothing and anything old (especially old foreign made cars). Above all these similarities was their deep fondness and love for one another. Fast forward to 2018, Tony has fulfilled an MBA and Lashawntja's love for homes and design has led her to a career in real estate. Together they bought a fixer upper in Haddon Heights, NJ, adopted a four legged fur baby named Enzo and lets just say the rest is history, and the best is yet to come!
It was a festive time of year at their favorite seaside resort, Congress Hall. An escape to the North Pole, if you will, for the Holiday Season. Congress Hall’s Grand Lawn was (and is every year) transformed into a magical Winter Wonderland, with an enchanted shopping village, special seasonal treats, a carosal and even a train that travels around Cape May’s very own North Pole! It's a magical place to say the least. With some close family members and even Enzo present, Tony got down on one knee and turned a magical place into a magical moment in time.
