FAQs

Because we know if we don't answer these now, you'll end up texting us the morning of the wedding while we're trying to remember where we left the rings. Consider this our attempt at being organized adults - read on before asking us what time the ceremony is....again. ;)
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Think beach chic - nice but comfortable. Dresses, jumpsuits, slacks, button-downs, whatever makes you feel good. Just maybe skip the stilettos. Also bring layers since we aren't sure if it will be foggy or not.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Nope - this elopement is small, cozy and invite-only.

Question

Where exactly is the ceremony?

Answer

On the Sonoma Coast, overlooking the Pacific at Goat Rock Overlook. Bring your sunglasses and maybe a hair tie/jacket/scarf if the wind and fog decide to join the guest list.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

We'll head back to Guerneville for a two-hour happy hour at Dawn Ranch - East Room. Drinks, light bites and plenty of toasts - think celebratory and relaxed, not a full reception.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We're staying at Dawn Ranch and would love for people to stay there. However, there are a few other options: Highlands Resort & Boon Hotel and Spa are charming backups (See the Travel page for details).

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

If you are flying in, yes - rent a car. Sonoma isn't exactly overflowing with Ubers. If you're local, just drive your own car or carpool with a friend (road trip karaoke optional, but encouraged).

Question

What will the weather be like in April?

Answer

Who knows! It's Northern California. Could be sunshine and 70 degrees, could be foggy with a coastal breeze, could be both in the same hour. Pack layers and you will be fine.

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Nope

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Right here on this website - click RSVP and let us know you're coming.

Question

What is there to do in Guerneville?

Answer

So much! Think redwood hikes, wine tasting, floating down the Russian River (if rental season is open and available), quirky shops, and plenty of good food. It's basically summer camp for adults!

Question

Where should we eat in Guerneville?

Answer

Guerneville may be small, but it has several good places to eat: - Boon Eat + Drink: cozy farm-to-table spot (yes, it's the sister restaurant to Boon Hotel) - Big Bottom Market: Famous biscuits, grab-and-go sandwiches, and good coffee. - BROT - modern German comfort food (think schnitzel and beer). -El Barrio - fun cocktail bar with tasty Mexican bites. - Main Street Bistro & Cabaret: A relaxed, jazzy atmosphere. Dishes range from pizza, burgers, lamb shank, etc. Michael and Patricia are booked here at 6pm (after the cocktail party - Three Cultures Restaurant: Brand new and has the previous chefs from Boon. Basically, you can eat your way through town without ever needing to leave Main Street.

Question

Can we take photos?

Answer

Absolutely! We aren’t hiring a photographer — we’d love for you to capture the day through your eyes. Please take as many photos and videos as you’d like, and upload them to our shared album using the QR code that will be displayed in the cocktail room. Thank you for helping us remember every moment!
