Yes! We'll be having the ceremony and reception regardless of weather. Rain plan: All events are in the Festival Barn.
If we decide to move the wedding inside the Festival Barn for rain, we will update this website with that information. Should the call be made day-of, we will put a sign at Open House and there will be no chairs set up. You can then just make your way to the Festival Barn.
Yes! This is a child and baby friendly wedding. We will be outdoors with plenty of space for the kids to run around.
Dressy Casual. It will be summer and hot! Theme is English Garden Party.
We ask that you please do not park directly in front of the Open House or the Festival Barn (or the side lot to the left of the Festival Barn). These spaces will be used for guests with mobility concerns, caterers, performers, etc. The recommended places to park are the large gravel lot across from the Keith House, and the gravel and asphalt lots near the Craft Shop. Most other locations on campus are fine to park in, such as the gravel lot near the quilting studio.
If you are planning to be in the processional parade, meet in the Festival Barn at 3pm. Otherwise, we will meet you at the Gardens near Open House. The ceremony starts promptly at 4pm, so please arrive by 3:30!
We will have Port-a-Pottys available at the Festival Barn! Please do not use the Folk School's on campus restrooms due to their septic not being able to handle the number of guests we are bringing on campus.
The parade will take place rain or shine. Brian will lead it, marching with his snare drum. He will be accompanied by friends, family, and other guests with a wide variety of instruments. The idea is that he’s bringing all of Brasstown and beyond to his bride, showing how much he loves her and how much the community supports them. Yes, you can be in it! We want as many people as we can to march! Bring whatever instrument you can walk with: Drums, horns, guitars, shakers, etc. The tune is a very simple melody. The lyrics are as follows: “Cheese and bread and an old cow's head all roasted in a lantern x2 A bit for you and a bit for me and a bit for Morris dancers x2” Arrive at 3PM at Festival Barn!
No worries! Just go back to the RSVP page and change your response to decline. Stuff happens and we understand if you cannot make it.
We ask that you do not bring or consume tobacco products on campus. And also, please do not bring any weapons (pocket knives, concealed carry, etc.) on campus.
Yes! We will have several beers and wines to choose from. Feel free to bring something of your own!
