Jamie and I first met on May 29th, 2018. It’s an easy date to remember because it remains my anniversary with the company where we were co-workers for several years. What began as teammates learning to navigate corporate America together became a friendship, and eventually evolved into much more. After spending time together on various occasions among friends and family during the summer of 2021, we seemed to come to the mutual realization of our interest in each other that fall. As timing would have it, about a month after we started seeing each other Jamie took off for a previously planned 3 month hiatus in Costa Rica. While challenging, we found truth during this time in the mantra that absence makes the heart grow fonder. (I’ve also learned to take seriously Jamie’s threats to leave the country when I’m watching too much football during the fall!) Over our 2+ years together, Jamie and I have bonded over our love for good food (and her knack for cooking it), an appreciation for quality time with those we love, and and an equal, if not greater appreciation for the value of quiet time together. Jamie and I are both very grateful for the welcoming and supportive environment our families have afforded us during time spent with them. So much so that on Thanksgiving when I shared my plans to propose the following month, my mom jokingly disclosed that she had plans of her own to begin adoption proceedings if I didn’t put a ring on it before the end of the year. As we’ve gone through the early stages of wedding planning, Jamie has been incredibly diligent and thorough in her efforts to ensure November 15th is everything we’ll spend the next several months dreaming about. Wedding planning or not, she regularly goes above and beyond to be there for those she loves, a list of people I am fortunate every day to be part of.
We're looking forward to being with our friends and family on the big day, and hope you can make it!
