The Marriott Syracuse Downtown, originally known as the Hotel Syracuse, is a landmark of architectural and cultural significance in central New York. Designed by George B. Post & Sons, the hotel opened in 1924 during the Roaring Twenties, reflecting the era's opulence with its Renaissance-style architecture, grand ballrooms, and over 600 guest rooms. It quickly became a social hub, hosting notable figures such as Charles Lindbergh, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, and Presidents John F. Kennedy and Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Today, the Marriott Syracuse Downtown stands as a testament to successful historic preservation. Its revival has not only restored a piece of Syracuse's heritage but also revitalized the city's downtown area, making it a premier destination for travelers and events alike .
