Our first introduction came at a wedding in Nashville, although we had been friends with the couple for years without ever meeting. (Shout out to Lindsey & Jacob for their wedding/our meeting!) So Larry and I met at the rehearsal dinner and both caught each other's eye. Afterwards at the hotel, I made a joke about how I better get a date out of the wedding, and the bride, her mother, and her Aunt all chimed in that I should date Larry. The next day was the wedding and we spent almost the entire reception talking to each other. We exchanged numbers, went on an official date a few days later and have spent almost every day since together. Larry later told me that on the way back to the hotel from the rehearsal dinner I pulled up next to the car he was riding in and he saw that I was driving a stick shift and said to Lindsey & Jacob, "I'm gonna marry that girl."
On a regular Wednesday, Larry suggested we go out to dinner, but he wouldn't say where we were going. He parked the car by Avondale Park and we got out of the car. I figured we were going to Fancy's on Fifth, across the street. We were standing at the back of the car and Larry stopped, took my hands, and said, "I was thinking, we had our first date at Fancy's, and our first anniversary here. I figured we could have our first date being engaged at Fancy's too." Then he knelt down and asked, "Will you marry me?" I was so excited, I just kept saying, "Oh my God!" Larry stood up, then realized I never really answered so he knelt down again and asked, "Will you?" I excitedly said yes and he pulled out the ring, put it on me, and we went and celebrated with a delicious dinner.
