Short answer: Dressy casual. If the weather cooperates, we aim to be outside and soak up as much of Lake Superior as possible! The ceremony will be on grass and there will be yard games and a fire in lieu of a dance, so dress comfortably to enjoy yourself and have fun with everyone!
Glad you asked! Since everyone is traveling, we will also have a come-and-go breakfast Sunday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Larsmont Cottages that is open to everyone before they start their trek back home.
Kids are welcome to join in ALL the festivities EXCEPT the dinner reception. Due to our dinner reception space having a limit of 50 guests that can comfortably fit, we will offer a caregiver for some of the younger kids during the dinner (~6:00-7:30) who will provide dinner and fun activities (or some quiet time) to wind down. We want this to be a family-friendly celebration as much as possible, so ALL family members of invited guests are welcome to join for the lakeside ceremony (weather-permitting), social hour, and yard games immediately following the dinner reception (~6:00-7:30). For the dinner reception, we kindly request that those specified on your formal invitation provide their RSVP. If there is any confusion, please reach out to Larry or Amber for clarification and thank you for your understanding!
Of course! Please note any allergies on your meal RSVP and we will work with Larsmont Cottages to accommodate as best as possible.
One of the (many) great things about the North Shore is that many lodging options are available depending on your budget and preferences. There is a block of units and/or cottages at Larsmont (remember to use the code HO062924 when calling to make reservations). These units will generally run to be approximately $360/night with a two-night minimum. We realize this is expensive for many individuals, so there are other lodging options nearby. Another close hotel where we have a room block is the Country Inn and Suites in Two Harbors. Superior Shores is a nearby resort that is approximately 11 minutes away from Larsmont Cottages with rooms ranging from $209-$260 for the weekend (two-night stay required). Hotels in Duluth are a great option as well and are about 25 minutes away from Larsmont. Don't be shy in checking out MANY nearby Airbnb/VRBO accommodations, or campgrounds in the area as well. This is the beginning of peak season in the region, so you want to make plans sooner rather than later, if possible. We want to kindly remind guests that it IS summer season on the North Shore so hotel rooms are likely to range in the $250-$300 range per night and may require a two-night minimum. We encourage all of our guests to find lodging that works best for them and their families to enjoy a weekend on the North Shore.
There will be an open bar with a wide selection of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks available throughout the evening
