Question

How should we organize to and from airport transportation?

Answer

Our travel agents at Yellow Umbrella Events recommend using Canada Transfers for round-trip ground transportation to and from the airport. However, this is not a requirement — you are welcome to book whichever service best suits your needs. Please note, if you are flying into the Cancun or Tulum airport, expect an hour ride until you arrive at Unico. https://www.canadatransfers.com/

Question

When will I need dinner reservations? *Important*

Answer

On Thursday 11/07 and Saturday 11/09 evenings, there are no planned events and you will be on your own for dinner. 35-40 days out prior from travel, Yellow Umbrella Events will provide us with confirmation numbers for our hotel bookings. Once confirmation numbers are received, you will then be able to contact the resort to make dining reservations. We HIGHLY recommend reaching out to the resort in advance to book your dinner reservations, especially, if you are looking to dine in large groups. It will be a busy weekend at the resort and we want to ensure you can dine at your preferred times. Our suggestions - the Hibachi tables at Mura House are SO fun! The food at Cueva Siete was the best in our opinion. The ambiance at Mi Carisa is simply darling and has beautiful outdoor seating - the food here is also terrific. There is a steakhouse as well we have heard good things about, however, we didn't have a chance to dine there! There are 4 restaurants for dinner service in total to choose from. The maximum seating they allow per table for reservations is 8 guests, with the exception of the Hibachi Tables that seat 10. To reserve in advance, please email: prearrivalhost@unicohotelrm.com For breakfast and lunch throughout your stay, you will not need reservations.

Question

When will I need cash?

Answer

All food and alcoholic beverages are included in your stay. Although gratuity is not required, we recommend bringing cash to tip the hotel staff throughout your stay. Tipping culture is much less in Mexico. They greatly appreciate it and the hospitality will be returned to you.

Question

How should I pack?

Answer

In the beginning of November, expect mid 80s during the day and mid 70s at night. Pack for hot temperatures with a chance of tropical showers. Besides attire for planned events, we recommend packing bathing suits, beach cover ups, and casual chic vacation wear for day and night time. Obviously - don't forget your passports! Reminder for planned events: All White Welcome Party - This event is all white cocktail attire. Please no prints, patterns, or colors of any kind. Light khaki, linen, and shades of white are acceptable. Our Wedding - The event is semi formal attire. Women are asked to wear elegant dresses, while men are encouraged to wear suits, but please feel free to leave the tie off. Please note that the event won't be held on a beach, so regular footwear is appropriate.

Question

What airports should we fly into?

Answer

Cancun International Airport and Tulum International Airport will be your closest options. Please refer to our custom travel page made with Yellow Umbrella Events for further information on airports. https://www.yellowumbrellaevents.com/events/taylor-and-dan/

Question

What will make my life easier during my stay?

Answer

The Unico 20 87 mobile app will be your best friend! Hours of operation for all the restaurants/gym/etc., hotel activities schedule, and more is at the tip of your fingerprints. I recommend downloading it in advance to begin familiarizing yourself with the resort.
