The First Day

It was one of the first weekends back at Bryant after the Christmas break. A freezing night in January (January 31st, 2015, to be exact). We met at a party in Hall 12. Alexa specifically remembers opening the door to the party, and Brett being the very first person she saw. Ironically, the two didn't know each other except for the occasional pass in Salmonson dining hall. But they did know each others' group of friends. They got talking, exchanged phone numbers, and saw each other every single day for the rest of the semester.

The Yes Day

Long distance is fun... says no one ever. Alexa and Brett used to drive 7 hours to each other on a Friday night, and leave on a Sunday afternoon. In April, Alexa did one of those trips on a whim, unplanned. Brett was excited (of course), and asked if she wanted to do anything special on Saturday. They ended up deciding to go wine tasting in Niagara, one of their favorite things to do as the weather starts to get warm. Upon arrival, we were greeted and wined and asked if we'd like a tour. We toured the vines, the property, and then the barrel room. Alexa thought it was odd that two young girls followed them to the barrel room with cameras... so much for their private tour. Brett then brought Alexa to the center of the room and got down on one knee. Those girls were actually photographers to capture that perfect moment. Alexa had no idea, and Brett pulled off that planning in just 1 day!

The Best Day

For those who don't know, we officially tied the knot on August 17th, 2019. Brett's immigration status relied on us getting hitched within 90 days (yes, like 90 day fiance), so we got our marriage license, marched down to the town green, and said I Do in front of our parents and closest family. You can say we were the ones who made micro-weddings cool before COVID. Madalynn, the maid of honor, decked out our 700 sq apartment, had catering delivered, and truly made our day so beyond special (pics updated in the photos section!). While this was not the way we pictured actually becoming man and wife, we wouldn't have had it any other way. Being married already takes all (well, most of) the stress out of planning for our wedding celebration. And while we had a beautiful day in August of 2019, we cannot wait to make it OFFICIAL on 10/29/21 with all of you!
