We met through the Young Professionals Networking Group softball league in 2008. Apparently Audrey caught Sean's attention from afar but she had no idea until years later. In 2011, we started spending a lot of time together thanks to a mutual friend on Sean's softball team that season and eventually became inseparable. Many of you know that despite always being together, Sean wasn't quite convinced yet that he wanted to date Audrey. Through the Summer of 2011 they continued to spend time together and eventually booked a trip to Hawaii to see their mutual friends who had just moved there. Audrey decided that if they spent a week in Hawaii together and Sean still didn't want to date her that she was throwing in the towel. Luckily, a trip to San Diego before the Hawaii trip that happened to coincide with the Giants playing the Padres saved the day and Sean finally made a move. It still took a bit longer to make it "official" but essentially the rest was history.
After nearly 8 years together, Sean knew that San Francisco was the perfect place to propose since they had spent so much time in the city together. It was the final weekend of the 2019 baseball season and he decided to take Audrey to Tank Hill before the Friday night game. This spot is a bit of a hidden gem and overlooks the entire city with views of both bridges. Naturally, it was the only foggy day of the entire weekend. After a few speed bumps, including Audrey stopping him in his tracks and having a mini-meltdown, Audrey asked Sean if he wanted a do-over on his attempted proposal. Sean got on one knee and proposed without interruption this time, and of course, Audrey said yes. They had a good laugh at how much more fog had rolled in since they arrived and took the picture below right after, where you almost can't see anything thanks to Karl. Nothing went according to the script and it couldn't have been more perfect.
