Matt and Larissa shared a class together at Purdue University in spring 2018. After the last class of the semester, the two waited for each other outside of the hall and planned a study date to work on their final projects together. The rest is history.

Matt surprised Larissa by taking her on a hike in one of her favorite parks. This park just so happened to be in West Lafayette, the city where they first met. While on the hike, Matt told Larissa they were looking for acorns and walnuts, to put into a collection. Matt then “stumbled” across a walnut that looked a bit different from the rest and pointed it out to Larissa. When Larissa picked it up, she realized that the walnut opened to reveal a ring. Larissa turned around to find Matt on one knee. She said YES (of course), and here we are!
