This is our absolute FAVORITE place to get breakfast. if you choose to go here, be prepared to wait a bit for a table, its a popular place!
Powell's City of Books
If you like books even a little, be sure to stop and see Powell's! It's the largest independently owned bookstore in the world taking up an entire city block at 68,000 square feet.
Portland Saturday Market
Contrary to its name, Portland's Saturday Market is open on Saturday 10-5 AND Sunday 11-4:30. It's a massive open air arts and crafts market! There are vendors selling all sorts of things, and if you get hungry, there are food carts there as well!
Washington Park
Want to get outside? Go check out Washington Park and get lost in it! There are a bunch of trails as well as the Zoo, World Forestry Center, the Japanese Garden, and the International Rose Test Garden. Yes, the Roses are still blooming in October!
Alberta Arts District
Go Play on NE Alberta! There are a bunch of cute little shops and delicious places to eat!
North Mississippi Avenue
THIS IS OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!!! We walk here all the time! There are amazing shops lining the street and bars and restaurants to stop at. We love 'Por Que No' for tacos and 'Mississippi Pizza' for a slice of pizza!
OMSI
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry! It's a hands-on science museum. If you're coming with kids or want to learn some cool stuff, this museum is the place to go!
Ground Kontrol
A barcade downtown, this is open to kids during the day and 21+ at night. Wicked fun if you're looking to grab a drink and play some games.
Pittock Mansion
Go learn all about the Pittock family at the Pittock Mansion. You can tour the mansion or just play around and explore the grounds and enjoy the view of the city. Either way it's a great time!
Sauvie Island Farms
We LOVE Sauvie Island. There are a bunch of farms and places to explore! Be cautious of the nude beach though... unless you're into that type of thing.
Roloff Farm
It IS October and so we totally get if you want to go see the Roloff Family Farm. We've never been, but we know there are a lot of people who would probably want to go see it!
HalloweenTown Every October
We, regrettably, have never been to see this. But every October St.Helens, OR sets up their town square to look like Halloweentown. It was filmed there, it's their schtick. There's a fun little festival and they have the big pumpkin and everything. Do it for the gram.
¿Por Qué No?
One of our favorite taco spots, and it's right in our neighborhood!
Mississippi Pizza
PIZZA! We love this place! they also often have bands and things performing in the dinning room. One time Emily went there to pick up a pizza and while she was waiting stumble upon a band dressed as pirates who only played songs from the 'Muppet Treasure Island' soundtrack. Portland's weird.
Tin Shed Garden Cafe
Nothing says Portland like brunch... and the unipiper. but this place is great! and they let people bring their dogs to eat breakfast in the outdoor seating area. Go see some dogs and get a good brunch.
UCHU Sushi
Do you like sushi? Cool, go here, they make it. Chris loves this sushi place and not that we're biased but it's in our neighborhood!
