On January 11th, 2023, I saw Jenny's profile pop up and noticed her love of running. My first message to her: If you ever need a running buddy, let me know! Little did I know that first message would be the start of 100,000's of texts and a wonderful future. 9 days later, on January 20, 2023, I decided to message Andrew since he was the first guy who mentioned anything about running. Our first conversation was about how we got into running and at some point during our chat, I talked about running in Colorado, while he said he would rather run in the crisp Colorado air than the Texas heat. I thought he had moved from Texas to Colorado while he thought I was in Texas. I can't believe I didn't realize the obvious: Hinge had glitched while I was in Boulder on a work trip and never reset my potential matches, even a month after getting back to San Antonio. It was one of the dumbest, yet best mistakes of my life. We met for the first time on February 23, 2023 at Avanti in Boulder when Andrew was in Colorado on a business trip. We enjoyed talking to each other so much that we were unaware of our surroundings and that Avanti was closing up early. We realized they wanted us to leave when the bartender started passively aggressively wiping the counter in front of us. We both wanted to continue talking and hanging out so we decided to walk around Pearl St., unaware that it was actually -4 degrees F that night. The one night that it was the coldest in Colorado. The moment we walked outside I realized I had completely forgotten where I parked my car. I was very embarrassed and pretty angry at myself. To my surprise, Jenny offered to walk with me and help me find my car. We spent at least 30 or so more minutes wandering up and down Pearl St. to finally find it. We even found the parking garage I was originally going to park in before finding the car. Turns out it was parked in the building that is literally where I work now. After we finally found the car, we sat in it and conversated some more while warming our hands since they had gone numb from being in the cold. All the stores had closed early at this point and there wasn't places we can go so we just sat in the car until our hands were warm and talked until Andrew dropped me off at my car. Our conversation were truly engaging and I realized we had a connection. It was so great, yet I felt like I had completely screwed up having this beautiful and wonderful woman follow me in the bitter cold to find my car. I've known people who would've ended it for less. When we were close to the end of our date, I drove her and walked her to her car, still thinking that was probably the end of it. And then she asked for my number! Andrew had walked me to my car and as we were walking, I thought about how it was nice for him to walk me to my car and that how overall, this date went really well and I think I would be cool with continuing to get to know him more. To my surprise, he didn't ask for my number. At first, I hesitated on making the move to ask for his number because maybe he didn't feel the same way about this date. But I ultimately decided if this guy wasn't going to ask me for my number, then I should just do it since it'd be easier to communicate than going through the app every time. The next day I managed to get out of work early. I think my boss saw me smiling while reading Jenny's replies and thought it would be nice to let me see her before flying out. She told me to meet at her place by a nearby park. I instead parked at the park. When I saw her walking with the dogs, the little blonde one, Coco, started barking at me. I thought she didn't like me and that would also be the end of it. Thankfully that's how Coco is, and now I'm happy to call her one of my fur-siblings. Its been several years since and a move to Colorado. I would do it all over again. Now here we are, about to get married! If you managed to get to the end, we hope you will join us on our wedding day!
