The Wedding Website of Alexander Francis and Lara Valentina
Searching for how to move around Vienna and where to stay? We got you! Check out some of the tips we separated for you:

Flight

Vienna International Airport

The Vienna International Airport lies outside the city, but with direct connections to the Vienna Central Station by train. When exiting the airport, simply follow the signs downstairs to the train station. Don't forget to purchase a ticket!

Train

Wiener Linien

Wiener Linien is Vienna's public transportation provider. For all those planning to do some sightseeing in Vienna, we recommend the 24-72 hour ticket or the 7 days ticket - depending on how long you are staying. This ticket can be purchased on the website, app (WienMobil) or any Wiener Linien ticket machine, and, if bought at the machine, must be validated once before use. It allows you to use any bus, tram, metro or train within the Vienna city limits. For train tickets out of the city, such as to the airport or Deutsch-Wagram, an extension ticket must be bought via the ÖBB to cover the additional route from the city limits to your destination.

Train

ÖBB

ÖBB covers all train lines in Austria. As we live on the outskirts of Vienna, where the wedding party will take place, and the airport also lies outside the city limits, you may have to come across the ÖBB tickets as well. Also available online, through the app (ÖBB) or at the ÖBB ticket machines, you can either buy a full ticket to any destination or an additional ticket if you have a Vienna ticket already, to cover the distance from the city limits to your final destination. To buy an additional ticket, simply press on "from the city limits" or "ab Stadtgrenze" on the ticket machine (right upper corner after selecting a trip). If shopping on the app, add your Vienna ticket to your discounts.

Rental Car

Free2Move

Car sharing is another viable option in Vienna. Registering on Free2Move with the following link and the code MGM-CYXV-CP39-8J7J-TVAH will guarantee you a 10 euro coupon on your first ride. For that, you must create an account and submit your driver's license. Foreign driver's licenses are accepted. Should the automatic recognition not work with your license, you can contact support@free2move-carsharing.com via email with a picture of it, so the recognition can be done manually.

House Or Rental

Airbnb

If you are planning on grouping up and staying at the same place, good old Airbnb is probably the best option. When searching for a stay, we recommend districts 1 to 3, or anything close to the metro lines U1 (red) and U4 (green). No go's would probably be the outer districts as they are more poorly connected and far from sightseeing attractions.

Hotel

Hotels in Vienna

For individual guests or couples, renting a hotel room is also an option. Hotels can be priced similarly to Airbnb apartments and are generally more benefitial for the local economy. On booking.com, early bookers can find options ranging from 40 to 70 euros a night in hotels.
