we are getting married!

Lara and Steven first met at the University of Memphis Student Recreation Center. What began as a simple question, “Are you in my circuits class?” slowly grew into a friendship filled with laughter, shared stories, and a quiet understanding that neither of them had expected. Over time, their friendship blossomed into something deeper, with pasta nights becoming a cherished tradition and moments spent together feeling effortless and meaningful. Their first date took place on a rainy afternoon at Shelby Farms. The day had started gray and wet, but just as they arrived at the park, the rain gave way to a bright rainbow stretching across the sky. They walked together under the soft light, laughing and sharing quiet conversation. That evening ended with Popeye’s sandwiches carried secretly into the movie theatre and a first kiss, the moment when everything shifted and the promise of forever quietly began. In August of 2023, Steven gave Lara a promise ring, a small but meaningful symbol of his commitment. Then, on a golden September evening he knelt down and asked the question that would change everything. With a heartfelt and very nervous “I will,” (in place of the usual yes) he slipped a sparkling ring onto her finger keeping his promise and sealing their love with a new beginning, one that will last a lifetime.
