Crane Beach
310 Argilla Road, Ipswich, MA 01938
In our opinion, the nicest beach on the North Shore!
Woodman's of Essex
119 Main Street, Essex, MA 01929, (978) 768-6057
They may have invented the fried claim- and regardless, they have excellent fried clams and other seafood! Lara's favorite is scallops, clam chowder and lobster (often at the same time....).
Long Beach
Rockport, MA 01966
Garret lived on this beach for a year during the Johnsons' move to Boxford. He was known around the neighborhood as the pudgy kid who went to the ice cream truck too much and never left the cooler full of food.
Essex River Cruises & Charters
35 Dodge Street, Essex, MA 01929, (978) 768-6981
Take a cruise! It's a nice way to relax and see the marshes and beautiful views that made us choose this area for our wedding.
Halibut Point State Park
5 Gott Avenue, Rockport, MA 01966, (978) 546-2997
Halibut Point is one of the nicest parks in the area, with a short hike down to rocks that jut out into the Atlantic Ocean.
Rocky Neck Art Colony
Gloucester, MA 01930
Rocky Neck is one of the oldest art colonies in the U.S., where you can browse some incredible work by local artists. Neither Garret nor Lara is "gifted" artistically, but they still recommend you check out this beautiful part of Gloucester!
