The most Fort Collins-y thing you could do is to take the free brewery tour with free beer! Sign up in advance.
OUR FIRST DATE SPOT. Technically, neither of us went into it thinking it was a date or that the hang would turn into a marriage. :) This is a GREAT place to sample the local breweries.
Lara's favorite gluten-free boozy hang. Great sandwiches and cider (mostly on the sweet end. Magpie is Lara's favorite but buy a flight to taste them all).
It may be too cold/icey for hiking while you're here, but the Res is worth a look.
The most picturesque place on CSU's campus is the oval. The daily bike ride through it is the thing that kept Lara sane during her Master's degree. Worth a detour to take a drive or walk through it!
Northern Colorado's only bean-to-bar chocolatier. The single-origin bars are amazing if you are a connoisseur and know chocolate like some people know wine. Otherwise, the truffles are scrumptious!
It's a speakeasy, so the location is approximate. 1 of 2 best cocktail spots in town.
The other speakeasy, the other best place for cocktails. It's underneath Ace Hardware store (you can take the elevator from inside the Elizabeth Hotel).
The best coffee shop in town with the best mission and vibe.
Wonderful little shop for spending any money you got over the holidays.
The local independent bookstore. Small but mighty!
Lara still gets her tea from this shop even though she and Dan live in Denver now.
Ceremony Location to give you a point on the map to look at. :)
Reception Location! Best pizza in town, which is why we're celebrating there. :)
The local bean roaster and where you'll want to be if you care about coffee. They introduced Colorado to the term "pour-over."
Acai bowls became a thing at the Boulder location in 2006. They cured many a hangover for Lara in college and may help you with your wedding hangover on New Year's Day.
Tex-Mex spot famous for their beer-ritas.
An unrivaled indoor climbing gym, if you're into that sort of thing (most of Fort Collins is). :)
Order the lobster & crab nachos. They're listed as an appetizer, but Lara usually eats them as a full meal. You can also usually get a margarita flight to sample their concoctions. Very allergen-friendly overall!
