Lara and Brandon’s first date was on February 26, 2017. It went well past the expected one drink, only ending after four hours of talking and laughing with a promise of a second date. Fast forward four years, they got engaged on the anniversary of their first date and would love to celebrate their wedding with you. Living in the Houston Heights, they enjoy exploring Houston’s art, culture, food, and drinks, often traveling by foot/bike. Meara, their goldendoodle, usually tags along and prefers stops where she can sit on a bench next to Brandon and is likely to get pets from strangers. Meara also loves car rides, especially when they end with camping/hiking adventures. The three of them have visited 10 Texas State parks. Meara loves curling up in the hammock with Lara after a long day hike and takes more than her fair share of the bed at night. She is not, however, going to protect anyone against wildlife. She prefers sleeping over alerting us to critters rummaging through the campsite. Meara even joined Lara and Brandon on a multi-state road trip to Washington in 2020 with stops in Mesa Verde, Moab, Shoshone Falls, Olympic National Forest, Spokane, Denver and others. Obviously, Lara and Brandon enjoy traveling. They made their first trip together to Puerto Rico in May 2017, and since then, they’ve had many adventures and traveled internationally to The Netherlands, Switzerland, and Belgium. They're planning a trip to Scotland for their honey moon. A lot can happen in four years. There's been a lot to celebrate. Lara bought a townhome. Brandon earned his Masters in Accounting. They’ve also tackled every problem that's come their way together -- Lara's first Hurricane (Harvey), Brandon's bicycle accident and three subsequent surgeries, and the 2021 winter freeze, to name a few.
