Winter Carnival

Lake Mendota

Madison, WI

The ice is thick enough to take a stroll on, just stay close-ish to shore and don't be the furthest person out on the ice!

Lake Monona

Madison, WI

The ice is thick enough to take a stroll on, just don't be the furthest person out on the ice!

Olbrich Botanical Gardens

3330 Atwood Avenue, Madison, WI 53704

If it is a nice day, walk through the winter gardens. Fun fact: Olbrich's Thai Pavilion is the only one in the continental United States and the only one outside of Thailand surrounded by a garden. If it is a cold day, warm up in the Bolz Conservatory. Bonus if you visit the park next door to go ice-skating - there are usually skates available to borrow in the warming house.

For all the days along the way
