Cocktail attire is appropriate for the wedding banquet. There will be dancing after dinner, so be sure to wear your dancing shoes!
A Chinese banquet is a large meal with multiple courses all served family style (meant to share). Guests sit in round tables of ten, and the food comes out when the dish is ready. The meal will last for about 2 hours, so please come hungry! Canton Seafood and Dim Sum Restaurant is known for their seafood, including scallops, stuffed golden crab claws, braised abalone with mushrooms, lobster, smoked sea bass, and seafood soup with fish maw and dry scallops. Because Chinese culture values fresh food, some dishes, like Peking duck and lobster, will come with bones, shells, and heads on the plate. Don't be alarmed if you see a lobster head on the plate--you'll know it is fresh, not frozen, lobster that you're eating!
Annie and Landon have already requested no peanuts in any of the dishes. If you have other food allergies, please let Annie and Landon know as soon as possible.
There is a small parking lot behind Canton Seafood and Dim Sum Restaurant (enter on Hawthorne Street). Street parking and private parking lots can also be found in the area. Please do not leave any items visible in your car.
There is no shuttle because the Marriott Marquis is four blocks from Canton Seafood and Dim Sum Restaurant. Guests can walk or taxi from the hotel to and from the restaurant.
